JH Track Team takes part in back-to-back meets in Tribune, Dighton

The Junior High Jackrabbits track team participated in back-to-back track meets on Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5. 

Thursday’s meet was the Northwest Kansas League Divisional Meet, hosted at the Jackrabbits’ home track. Six schools participated in the meet.

Northwest Kansas League Divisional Meet, Tribune

Eighth grade girls placing in the top 10 in their respective events were:

Addyson Kennedy placed sixth in the 200-meter dash; eighth in the 400-meter run; fourth in the long jump; placed first in the pole vault at a height of 5.09; 

Mia Reynolds placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.80; fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 33.49; placed first in the discus with a throw of 76-03; first in the shot put with a throw of 38.06; 

Shaydan Howell placed fourth in the 100-meter dash; fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:13.43; placed third in the long jump with a jump of 12-01.25; second in the triple jump with a jump of 26.07; 

Sixth and seventh grade girls placing in the top 10 in their respective events were:

Jailyn Brandl placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.33; placed first in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:33.22; 

Gracelyn Graham placed tenth in the 200-meter dash; 

Annaleigh Long placed fourth in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 21.18; 

Bailey Moritz placed second in the 800-meter run; second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:55.45; 

Charlize Shafer placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.58; placed second in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:16.15; 

Jeryn Stewart placed fifth in the 200-meter hurdles; 

The 4x100-meter relay team placed third with a time of 1:13.74. The 4x200-meter relay team placed first with a time of 2:12.48. The 4x400-meter relay team placed second with a time of 5:06.66. 

Briana Martinez placed tenth in the discus; placed ninth in the shot put; 

Bryleigh Nix placed fifth

Hayden Myers placed fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:06.57; seventh in the long jump; fourth in the triple jump; 

Gael Yanez placed third in the high jump with a jump of 4-10; eighth in the long jump; second in the discus with a throw of 109-06; 

Seventh grade boys placing in the top 10 in their respective events were:

Luke Clevenger placed seventh in the 200-meter hurdles; fourth in the triple jump;

Kolten Myers placed fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:20.10; third in the triple jump with a jump of 24-03; 

Taven Schmidt placed fifth in the 800-meter run;

Silas Sherer placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 60-0; fourth in the shot put with a throw of 23-09. 

Samuel Warner placed ninth in the 800-meter run; fourth in the 1600-meter run; tenth in the shot put; 

Truett Young placed seventh in the 800-meter run; seventh in the triple jump; 

The 4x100-meter relay team placed second with a time of 1:09.87. 

The 4x200-meter relay team placed first with a time of 2.18.22.

The 4x400-meter relay team placed second with a time of 4:37.89.
