Dayna Ann Bechard passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2025, in Tribune, at Greeley County Health Services. She was born in Salina, Kansas on November 7, 1978. Graduating from Tescott High School in 1997, she went on to attend Fort Hays State University.

She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from FHSU in 2001. Upon graduation from FHSU, she moved to Kansas City where she lived and worked for ten years. During her time in Kansas City, she worked for Accredo Clinical Business Solutions, and the Art Institutes International at Kansas City, where she made lifelong friends and connections. Furthering her education, she obtained her Master of Science in Business Management from Argosy University in 2012. This same year, she took that business degree and moved to Tribune, Kansas where she opened her own restaurant, locally known as “The Pub”. After a year and a half owning and

managing “The Pub”, Dayna went on to briefly work for Northwest Kansas Technical College as a Senior Admissions Representative. In 2014, she accepted a position as a Sales Associate for Farm Bureau Financial Services where she worked for nine years. In 2023, she began working from home full-time as an Account Manager for Roanoke Insurance Group.

During her time in western Kansas, she met Cody Woelk. Her partner for the next 12 years, she and Cody built a life together. Cody had two daughters from a previous marriage, Morgan and Karlyn, who quickly grew to love Dayna. On January 16, 2018, Dayna and Cody welcomed a baby boy into the world, Bodhi David Woelk.

Dayna was passionate about fundraising and volunteer work. She participated in many “Race for the Cure” walks in Kansas City and Hays, walking for over 80 miles in the name of cancer research. She went on to plan and host various cancer research fundraisers during her time in Kansas City. She continued her volunteer work even as she moved to western Kansas, as the Woelk family introduced her to the Greeley County 4-H program. She was a leader of the Straight Ahead Strivers 4-H Club, and the Sketching & Drawing project leader.

Dayna is survived by her significant other Cody Woelk, and their children - Morgan & Justin Faurot of Scott City; Karlyn Woelk of Hays; and Bodhi Woelk of Tribune;  two grandchildren, Emersyn & Rowan Faurot of Scott City; one sister, Deana (Bechard) Coker & Travis Coker of Kansas City, Missouri, and one sister-in-law, Cori Woelk of Tribune.

Dayna wished to be cremated, and her ashes will be spread by her family at various locations that hold special memories.

Per Dayna’s request, A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Greeley County 4-H building in Tribune, Kansas on Saturday April 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. MT. Upon completion of the service, there will be ice cream and dessert served by members of the 4-H Community.

There will be an additional Celebration of Life in Kansas City on September 20, 2025, for those who live in eastern Kansas and wish to attend. Additional information and details on this to come as the date grows closer.

Memorial donations may be given to the Greeley County 4-H program, and a private account set up for Bodhi Woelk (please contact Cody Woelk for information regarding where to send donations for Bodhi).
