Patrick L. “Pat” Grubb, age 81, passed away on Jan. 26, 2023, after a brief illness at CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. A “winter Texan,” Pat was a lifelong resident of Tribune, Kansas.
Pat was born on March 16, 1941, in Garden City, Kansas, to George D. and Minnie H. Grubb. Pat was a 1959 graduate of Greeley County High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. On July 30, 1963, Pat married Patricia A. “Patty” Arnold in Denver, Colorado, and the couple made their home in Tribune, Kansas, where he owned and operated Grubb Electric.
Pat was an avid hunter and fisherman, and upon his retirement in 2009, he and Patty spent winters in Aransas Pass, Texas, where he enjoyed fishing in the Gulf.
Pat is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Patty, and their two children, Doug (Nicole) of Centennial, Colorado, and Dawn (Jennifer) of Overland Park, Kansas. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Kale, Dane, Olivia and Ellis; brothers John of Horace, Kansas, and Harold of Tribune; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry, and sister, Laura.
Per Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

The Greeley County Jackrabbits swept the state tournament again this year, claiming a 49-43 win over the Lebo Wolves to earn the 2023 1A-Division II Championship game for the second year in a row. The team entered the tournament as the number one seed, with a record of 22-1.
