Richard Marion Martin, age 77, passed away August 16, 2025, at his home in Tribune.
He was born May 15, 1948, in Ashley County, Arkansas to Omer C. and Lena Mae (Linder) Lewis. The family moved to Tribune in his childhood years where he attended Greeley County Schools. In October 1966 he began his military service in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he earned a Vietnam Bronze Star, Campaign Medal, as well as a National Defense Service Medal. After completing his military service, he returned to Tribune to begin working. He married Mary Ann Kuder in 1970, to which they had three daughters. They later divorced. On August 30, 1991, he married Sandra K. Rasmussen in Lamar, Colorado.
He enjoyed working on vehicles throughout his career and worked very hard to support his family. He owned two body shops of his own, as well as working at Bob’s Body and Repair, Tribune Rendering, and finishing his career at Moser’s Garage. He enjoyed living in Tribune and resided there until his passing. Richard was a member of the Jaycees, Greeley County Fire Department, Greeley County EMS and a Lifetime member of Tribune VFW. He loved fishing, playing cards, and gambling, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Omer, and mother, Mae, his son, Todd Johnson, and an infant granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of the home, daughters, Connie (David) Douglas of Eskridge; Dorsey (Dustyn) Smith of Tribune; Kera (Brian) Weis of Syracuse; Norma Bowman of Pueblo; Tammy (Kevin) Dybdall of Boliver, Missouri; Carla (Royce) Page of Stockton, Missouri; brothers Robert Fahrner of Hephzibah, Georgia; and Roy (Lynnette) Lewis of Nickerson; sister Myra Bethel of Atkins, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and great grandsons.
Graveside services will be held August 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. MT at the Greeley County Cemetery.
