ORDINANCE NO. 817
AN REPEALING SECTIONS 13-202 and 13-203 OF CHAPTER XIII, CODE OF CITY OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 812, AND PROVIDING FOR NEW RA TES FOR SEWER SERVICE CHARGES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF UNIFIED GREELEY COUNTY, KANSAS
SECTION 1. Section 13-203 of Chapter XIII, Code Of City of Tribune, Kansas is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 812 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. There is hereby substituted for the said repealed Sections 13-202 and 13-203 of
Chapter XIII, Code of the City of Tribune, Kansas, the following:
Section 13-202. USERS, CLASSIFIED. All users of the sewerage system of the Unified Greeley County Municipal Service District, Kansas are, for the purposes of this Ordinance, classified as follows:
a. Residential.
“Residential” shall mean any structure housing one or two families, and also mobile homes.
b. Commercial.
“Commercial” shall mean any structure housing a
commercial use, motels, cabin camps, apartments, and multiple family dwellings, but specifically excluding
restaurants, service stations, gas stations, hotels and
motels.
c. Industrial.
“Industrial” shall mean any structure housing an industrial
use and having more than 15 employees.
d. Educational.
“Educational” shall mean any structure capable of
housing students, teachers and where normal education functions of a school are conducted.
e. Government.
“Government” shall mean any structure housing
employees or personnel of the County, State, or Federal
Governments, or any political subdivision thereof, but
specifically excluding the General Services District Shop,
the Kansas Department of Transportation Shop, the
4H Building, the Greeley County Schools Bus Barn, the
Greeley County Courthouse, the Greeley County
Swimming Pool, the Greeley County Hospital, the
Greeley County Clinic, and the Greeley County Long
Term Care.
f. Eleeymosynary.
“Eleeymosynary” shall mean any church, lodge or other
organization operated not for profit.
g. Motel/Hotel/Lodges.
“Motel”, “Hotel” and “Lodge” shall mean a commercial
enterprise renting overnight sleeping facilities on a
transient basis, i.e., anything less than one consecutive
month at a time.
h. Eating Establishment.
“Eating Establishment” shall mean a restaurant, grill,
cafe, or other establishment which prepares, sells and
serves food and beverages. This classification of user
does not include the Greeley County Hospital or the
Greeley County Schools which have cafeterias.
i. Gas Station.
“Gas Station” shall mean a facility where motorists can
refuel their vehicles with gasoline, diesel, or other types
of fuel and may offer additional services such as
convenience stores, air pumps for tires, car washes,
restrooms, or charging stations for electric vehicles.
j. Service Station.
“Service Station” shall mean a facility that provides
maintenance and repair services for vehicles, including
but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations and
replacements, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, battery
replacements, and general mechanical work.
Section 13-202. CHARGES. From and after the effective date
of this Ordinance there is hereby levied on each sewer
system user having a sewer connection with the
sewerage system of the Municipal Service District, or
otherwise discharging sewerage, industrial waste, water
or other liquids, either directly or indirectly, into the
Municipal Service District’s sewerage system, a sewer
service charge Such charge, based upon the
classification set forth in Section 13-202 hereof, shall be
as follows:
a. Residential
$14.00 per month
b. Commercial
$16.50 per month
c. Eating Establishment/Service Stations/Gas Stations
$33.00 per month
d. Motels/Hotels/Lodges
$109.00 per month
e. Greeley County Hospital
Greeley County Clinic
Greeley County Long Term Care
Greeley County Courthouse
Greeley County Swimming Pool
$109.00 per month
f. General Service District Shop
Kansas Department of Transportation Shop
4H Building
$14.00 per month
g. Educational
$109.00 per month
h. Greeley County Schools Bus Barn
$14.00 per month
i. Eleeymosynary
$11.50 per month
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect June 1, 2025 and from and following its publication in the official newspaper of Unified Greeley County as provided by law.
