Harland R. Graber

Harland R. Graber, 94, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on June 1, 1930 at Pretty Prairie the son of Ben & Martha (Schwartz) Graber, Sr. He married Lila Lorraine Curtis on September 18, 1949 at Tribune. She died on January 12, 2013.

Harland grew up in Pretty Prairie and graduated from Pretty Prairie High School and then joined his family in Greeley County on the family farm before starting work for an Implement dealer in Tribune. In 1955 he and Lorraine moved to Garden City where he went to work for International Harvester as a parts man. That started a lifelong career as a parts man for Schreiber Motors, parts manager for Magouirk Chevrolet in Dodge City and finishing his career with Napa Auto Parts in Garden City. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and past member of Elks Lodge. He enjoyed listening to music, playing golf and watching sports of any kind, especially KU football and basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is survived by his Son Charles “Chuck” Graber and wife Jeanne (Crook) of Windsor, Colorado, Granddaughter- Erika Graber of Kansas City, Missouri, Sister- Catherine Stinson of Colfax Washington, sister in laws Barbra (Harris) Curtis of Denver Colorado, Sandra (Curtis) Peterson of Grayson, Georgia and many cherished nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers - Ben Graber, Jr., Robert Graber and Dean Graber and 2 Sisters- Leona Gehring and Helen Kaufman.

Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM MDT Saturday at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune with Rev Wade Graber officiating. 

Memorials are suggested to Finney County Humane Society or Graber Ministries in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
