AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 187 PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF WATER RATES AND SERVICES OF THE MUNICIPAL RATES OF HORACE, KS.

EFFECTIVE MARCH 31, 2026

 


THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE AS IT IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

 


SECTION 1. The following monthly rates are hereby established:

 


1. Single ¾” meter supplying one (1) residence:

First 3,000 gallons $15.00

Additional gallons $2.75 per 1,000 gal

 


2. Single ¾” meter supplying two (2) residences:

First 3,000 gallons $25.00

Additional gallons $2.75 per 1,000 gal

 


3. Single ¾” meter supplying three (3) residences:

First 3,000 gallons $35.00

Additional gallons $2.75 per 1,000 gal

 


4. Single. ¾” meter supplying one (1) Commercial water customer:

First 3,000 gallons $25.00

Additional gallons Reflects the water use rate                  established in the 

Municipal Water Works of 

Tribune Ordinance for

consumers outside the

Municipal Service District.

 


5. The above minimum rates on the first 3,000 gallons shall be increased for larger meters

as follows:

1” meter, additional$7.00

1 1/2” meter, additional$12.00

2” meter, additional$17.00

2 ½” meter, additional$22.00

3” meter, additional$27.00

 


THE GOVERNING BODY SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DETERMINE AND FIX WATER RATES, FOR ANY AND ALL CONSUMERS WHO ARE NOT COVERED BY THE ABOVE PROVISIONS AND MAY REFUSE OR DENY SERVICE TO ANY PERSON, PERSONS OR CORPORATIONS OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS. ALL SUCH RATES SHALL BE FIXED BY RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HORACE, KANSAS.
