Oleta M. Bergquist, age 95, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
She was born to Charles Hugo and Mary Elizabeth Swilley Thon on December 13, 1929, in Manning of Scott County. She was a lifelong resident of the community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her social groups like the Red Hat club, meeting with people at the Senior Center, bowling, tending to her flowers, decorating for Christmas, serving in the VFW Auxiliary, and she loved playing many different card games.
Oleta married Andy Bergquist on November 27, 1964, in Canon City, Colorado. He passed away on May 31, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah and Warren Kuttler of Tribune, Sandra Lewis of Tribune, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Oleta is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings- Lester, Helen, Beulah, Hazel, Neva, Ronald, Wayne, and Letha - and one son, Chester.
Funeral Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Tribune, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Shanon Schneider presiding.
Public Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on July 18, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Price and Sons Funeral Home, 322 2nd St., in Tribune.
Memorials may be given in memory of Oleta to the “Melven O. Kuder Sr. Senior Center” or the “First Baptist Church” in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 161, Leoti, KS, 67861.
